Hear the story of the world-famous Lipizzaner stallions, from their origins in ancient times to the almost unknown drama of their rescue in 1945. The film, which focuses on the bond that develops between horse and rider, begins at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Here the perfect harmony between horse and rider, as well as the beauty and power of the magnificent white stallions, is celebrated in their impressive performance. Their carefully choreographed movements were originally intended for war. Then, only the strongest and most athletic of the horses were chosen.

"Reaping the Whirlwind" on the Dust Bowl, Pt. 2 airs on Tuesday, April 30th at 7 pm

When Harry Forester lost his farm to the dust and Depression in Oklahoma, the family converted its truck into a modern-day covered wagon and migrated to California in 1936, where Forester had found work. Two of his daughters (Louise, front row, left, in cap; and Shirley, second row, second from right) help tell the story of their father's broken dreams and the journey to a new life.

In the second episode of Ken Burns’s DUST BOWL, experience the gradual relief as the families of the plains seek new lives in California and government conservation efforts — and a break in the drought in 1939 — eventually stabilize the soil and bring the farms back to life, but with dangers of another Dust Bowl facing future generations.

"Undocumented" on Independent Lens can be seen on Monday, April 29th at 8 pm

Border Patrol agents help an ailing migrant crosser.

The blistering deserts of southern Arizona have been littered with the scorched and desiccated bodies of more than 2,000 illegal border crossers in the past decade and a half. The grisly task of locating and identifying them falls to overwhelmed local coroners and tireless volunteers, who attempt to provide closure to devastated families.

"Undocumented" on Independent Lens airs on Monday, April 29th at 8 pm.

When Scotland Yard dismisses the women’s theories, they realize it’s up to them to stop the killer before he takes his next victim. They identify a suspect and use Lucy to lure him into a trap, but their plan goes badly awry and Lucy is assaulted. Shaken, the women take a different approach, contacting former war department members. Susan plans to meet with a psychiatrist whom she believes has helpful information, completely unaware of the danger that awaits her.
