NM Students Give Back to Help Feed Families in Local Communities with Thanksgiving Baskets

One group of college students at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM, have found a practical way to give back to help families in the local communities. Every year, the ENMU students with VOICES (Voices of Inclusive and Committed Education Students) collect food and monetary donations to put together generous Thanksgiving baskets for families in need in Portales and Clovis, NM. ENMU students Sarah Szymonski and Adriana Chavez talked with "A Southwest Spotlight" host Janet Lyn about this year's efforts to make Thanksgiving meals possible for local families and about what motivates them to reach out to others and help with the project. They also talk about what they need for the Thanksgiving baskets and how the public can help put smiles on the faces --- and food in the stomachs --- of more children and families this holiday season.
